When a Junior day was held yesterday it was was blazing hot and bright. Overnight thunder storms prevailed, and on arrival it was raining heavily. A very damp morning! Keith never made it owing to driving into a flood and his car giving up the ghost.
With a light wind and calm conditions people fared very differently. Three caught full bags and Rosemary on the bank had four; the rest struggled. Alan lost one and got broken by what he assumes was a very decent fish.
The majority of fish seemed to be at the Lodge end of the lake. Roy caught in the Buzzer Bay area on all methods and flies; Kez the same, fishing a Di 7, 6ft leader and damsel and John Parnham caught on an intermediate. Rosemary could only get a floater and buzzers to work for her off the Lodge bank.
Congratulations to overall winner Kez. Roy had thought he was in with a shout, but his fish were smaller than those he caught the day before (5lb +). There are some excellent fit fighting fish coming out at present and there were many around the 3lb mark, so much weighing to see who had the heaviest fish!
