Eyebrook has not been fishing well this year and rod averages have generally been under 2. We debated whether to go or change venues.
Kez firmly said he did not like his fishing too easy and it was good to have a challenge.
Challenging it was – 10 of us fished and only 6 fish were caught!
Lady Luck or whatever, Rosemary managed 5 of them for 9lb 2oz and Tom Morton had 1, the heaviest fish by 1oz at 2lb 4oz.
Rosemary fished a Rio Midge Tip all day, taking 3 fish on an unweighted fluorescent Cats Whisker, the other 2 on an Invicta, and she was snapped by a nice looking fish (Invicta on the dropper), and lost 2 one on the Cat and one on the Invicta.
Tom fished a floater all day, lost 3 fish and landed the one, all to the orange foam Hopper.
John Middleton had a couple of follows to dries and Keith lost one and missed a fish on the hang.
Let us hope we do better at Colwick at our final match on 17th October.
