Charlie Ward, our Club's Founder died June 2004

It is evident that all those people that knew Charlie well or came into contact with him briefly, smile and appreciate the mark he made at Colwick Country Park Fishery.

Charlie was a founder member of the Colwick Fly Fishers Club and has been responsible for the club surviving over the years.

He was a fanatical trout fisherman, generous and passionate in nurturing fishing skills and more often than not enjoying a lively "discussion" about trout fishing.

He is sadly missed. Long may his spirit roam over Colwick, a trout fishery that was so dear to him.
